Are You Working on a Master’s Thesis or Diploma Thesis Connected to South Ostrobothnia? Apply for a Research Grant!
University Consortium of Seinäjoki awards grants of 500 euros (up to 10 grants) for master’s theses and diploma theses related to South Ostrobothnia. The aim is to support theses that produce new research knowledge for the region and strengthen its expertise.
The grant is intended for students of University of Tampere, University of Vaasa, University of Helsinki, and University of the Arts Helsinki. Students from the main campuses may also apply, provided that their thesis otherwise meets the eligibility criteria.
To receive the grant, the thesis must be linked to South Ostrobothnia and produce new research knowledge for companies, organizations, or other actors operating in the region and/or develop and strengthen the region’s expertise. Applications are prioritized based on regional impact and the benefits produced by the work.
Collaboration with an actor operating in the region is considered an advantage but is not a requirement for receiving the grant. The grant is primarily intended for students who do not receive other salary or financial support for their thesis work.
Applications are prioritized based on regional impact and the benefits produced by the work. Applications are evaluated by the coordination unit of the University Consortium of Seinäjoki, and decisions will be made by the director of the University Consortium by the end of April 2026.
