Open vacancy: Intern at the University Consortium of Seinäjoki
The University Consortium of Seinäjoki is a network-like multidisciplinary community of 80 experts. The University Consortium is formed by Tampere University, University of Helsinki, University of Arts Helsinki and University of Vaasa. The consortium is coordinated by Tampere University. Our partners include University of Turku, Natural Resources Institute Finland, Migration Institute of Finland, and University Association of South Ostrobothnia. The activities of the University Consortium of Seinäjoki focus on research and research activities that are relevant to the region development activities, continuous learning services, artistic activities and promoting societal impact.
The University Consortium of Seinäjoki (later UCS) is now looking for two interns to join the coordination team of the University Consortium.
The position is intended for bachelor’s or master’s degree students completing a work placement as part of their higher education studies.
Job description
As an intern, you will work as part of the UCS team. Your duties will include tasks related to event production and communications. As an intern, you will participate in the planning and implementation of our events and communications. You may also be assigned to other duties such as small-scale reports or documenting.
Requirements
The internship is best suited for a cultural production, communication science or business administration student who is in the final stages of their studies. The position requires a proactive and independent approach to work. Knowledge of Office tools, image processing skills, photography and knowledge of social media tools are considered an advantage.
For intern position (A), we require fluency in Finnish and English.
For intern position (B), we require fluency in English and an interest in learning Finnish. Proficiency in Finnish is not required for this position. In an intern position (B), you will work more closely with international students.

We are looking for two interns for a 3,5-month internship. The internship starts at the beginning of February or by agreement. The intern’s salary is 1500 euros per month, and the position is subject to a probationary period in accordance with the Employment Contracts Act.
Internships are full-time (36 h 15 min / week), and we have flexible working hours, which allows for a flexible combination of work and leisure, a some studying if you wish to do so. Your workstation is located the Seinäjoki University Consortium premises at the Frami area. Partial remote work is possible, but the work requires weekly presence in Seinäjoki. The work may include evening events where the intern can also participate.
