What is GeTeK

Skills that retain their value as technology evolves

AI is changing working life fast. Real competitive advantage comes from deep understanding, not from mastering individual tools. GeTeK studies cover the principles of AI, generative AI, deep learning, information retrieval and responsible use of AI. Studies are delivered as flexible online courses in collaboration with the University Consortium of Seinäjoki, which provides local support throughout.

Courses

20–25 credit study modules in generative AI – choose the ones that interest you!

You can complete the full module or just the individual courses that interest you. All teaching is primarily online. Courses are taught in English – a basic level of English is sufficient.

Generative AI: User, Language and Interaction HTI-A03 20 cr

Suitable for all knowledge workers and professionals who want to use AI and large language models in their daily work. You will learn the fundamentals of AI, its ethical and societal implications, and practical tools and prompting for tasks such as content creation, information retrieval and customer communication.

Generative AI: Applications DATA.ML-A05 20–25 cr

Aimed at IT and software professionals who want to deepen their knowledge of machine learning, deep learning and fine-tuning of language models. Registration is now open.

You will receive an email confirming that you have been accepted onto the GeTeK programme, along with instructions for the next steps.

Register for the Tampere Open University GeTeK group

When you register, your personal Tuni username (Tuni-ID) is activated. You will need it throughout your studies.

Once your Tuni-ID is active, you can enrol separately in the courses and study modules that interest you.
