How do we operate in Seinäjoki?

Our activities place special emphasis on the perspective of society. We collaborate with both private and public actors. We apply the latest research data in a working life-oriented manner, and we can help you solve any problem, big or small.

Below you can read some examples of our collaboration practices. We would be happy to further develop them together.

The Sustainable Food Business Study Module

  • The Sustainable Food Business Study Module (15 ECTS) is a joint program offered by the University of Helsinki and the University of Vaasa, focusing on sustainability and food business. This module leverages the unique characteristics and networks of the South Ostrobothnia food cluster. Each course includes an on-site period in South Ostrobothnia, organized in collaboration with local food industry stakeholders. During each course, students work in teams to solve sustainability challenges faced by partner companies. In addition to providing current and important content, the studies offer a unique opportunity to network with food industry stakeholders in the South Ostrobothnia region.

GPT-LAB Seinäjoki

  • The goal of the GPTLAB Seinäjoki is to strengthen the ability of companies in the South Ostrobothnia region to utilize artificial intelligence, improve the region’s innovation capacity, and support sustainable development. The project builds expertise in the multidisciplinary application of artificial intelligence and deepens cooperation between local universities and companies. The aim is to integrate AI research into regional business, support education, and create conditions for new AI-based projects. Through the project, companies are provided with tools to develop and implement AI solutions, which supports productivity and the green transition.

Artistic Expertise in Solving Business Challenges

  • Even the wicked problems facing different sectors of society can be addressed through creative thinking and artistic expertise. Artists often view things from perspectives that have not been previously considered, leading to unexpected breakthroughs beyond the realm of art. These interdisciplinary collaborations often create unexpected but successful results. At the University of the Arts Helsinki’s Seinäjoki Unit, artistic expertise has been advanced through several projects. For example, artistic expertise has been applied to solving food waste issues in schools and addressing challenges within the business sector.
