The Search: Future dynamics of regional development

New interest on the regional issues is rising due to the changing economic, social and environmental landscapes. The world economy will not be the same after the current financial crisis that is speeding up the structural change of western economies. Accordingly, the climate change calls for new pathways of economic development. Regional development policies need to be more intelligent than ever in order to trigger positive development cycles in the complex and inter-connected world. These notions call for new academic insights into the future dynamics of regional development.

University consortium of Seinäjoki, Ruralia Institute / University of Helsinki and Research Unit for Urban and Regional Development Studies Sente / University of Tampere would like to invite you to submit an abstract for presentation at the third conference of Norsa, the Nordic section of the Regional Studies Association.

We welcome papers from academics and other people with academic interest from Nordic countries, Europe and beyond. Additionally, participation is possible for those who are not interested in presenting a paper of their own. No full papers are expected. Abstracts should be submitted by March 22nd 2010 via the submission form on the conference website. Abstracts will be refereed. You will be notified of the acceptance by April 30th 2010. Deadline for speaker registration is May 21st 2010.
