New interest on the regional issues is rising due to the changing economic, social and environmental landscapes. The world economy will not be the same after the current financial crisis that is speeding up the structural change of western economies. Accordingly, the climate change calls for new pathways of economic development. Regional development policies need to be more intelligent than ever in order to trigger positive development cycles in the complex and inter-connected world. These notions call for new academic insights into the future dynamics of regional development.
University Consortium of Seinäjoki, Ruralia institute of the University of Helsinki and Research Unit for Urban and Regional Development Studies Sente of the University of Tampere would like to invite you to the third conference of Norsa, the Nordic section of the Regional Studies Association. We welcome academics and policymakers from Nordic countries, Europe and beyond. This is an exceptional opportunity to tap into leading-edge scientific knowledge and discuss the future dynamics of regional development.
